Through this blog, I’m going to chronicle the rise of the Scottish First Division team, Partick Thistle. My hopes are to get promoted, win the Premier League, and then begin to raise the status and popularity of Scotland. It’s going to be a tough feat seeing as this will be my first real attempt to boost a league and not just a team.

No transfer budget and $15.5k per week in wages.

My top player: David Rowson

He’s a center midfielder who looks to be a good player to surround with talent, but I might end up selling him for wage room and profit. Despite his upside, he’s 33 years old and he’s not a player for the future.

These are my first two signings. My left and right wings and both on free transfers. Both are fantastic, young, and potenial stars for now and the future. Depetris is inconsistent and injury prone, but I hope to get some good play out of him. Remi Sergio isn’t without his flaws either, but I can also run him as a CAM if need be. I’m very excited to see these guys play, but I’m going to need to pick up a strong striker as well. I have a bid in at the moment for a phenomenal young keeper and I hope that I can snatch him. I need to sell a couple of players to balance the books and I am about to ditch my current right wing to Crew for $20,000 and to clear up $1,000 in wages.

Speak of the devil. As I typed those words down, my offer was accepted. This keeper is leagues above my old keeper and on top of that, he is 22 years old! His potential rating is pretty high and would be a top keeper in Scotland.

Last but not least, I’ve signed this crafty veteran. The 32 year-old, Gionatha Spinesi, who is a masterful target man. A bit on the slow side, but with the wing plays I’m going to be running, this man will lead us to glory for a season or two. He’s not the guy for the future, but he’s wonderful in the now.

I’ll probably put in my next post around a quarter of the way through the season or maybe at the halfway point, it all depends on how eventful things are or if something major happens.
Until next time, thanks for dropping in.

“Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live… at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!” (Hey, it’s Scotland. What did you expect?)
